Olympus eSports had mixed results in the Majors 24 last weekend.
In split 1, our top GT3 team of Thomas Cope, Vitor Bras, Patrik Thomsen, Matt Loveridge, and Christiaan Arp finished P12 in class after running in the podium positions during early portions of the race. In split 4, our LMDh team of Dan Sedgley, Victor Klaesson, Andreas Nordenhof, and Andy Booth ran strong during the entire race and finished 5th place overall. It is our second top 5 in 3 years. In split 7, our other GT3 team of Charles Boshell, Chris Stephenson, Paul Joseph Clist, and Dominic Scharff completed the event in P11.
After the event, we received a special prize of “Best Screenshot” which was a fan vote contest. The screenshot will be printed and framed with the Majors “Running Man” coin that the team will receive.
As we begin year 3 of Olympus eSports, I want to take a moment and wish a fond farewell to Harold van Heerde, who has left the team. Harold drove the Porsche Cup for us in the IVRA ClubSport series and did a wonderful job. He has always ready to practice and improve his racecraft. We wish him the best of luck. I also want to welcome new drivers Leah Anderson, Andreas Nordenhof, Andy Booth, and Dominic Scharff to the team. Each driver has driven at least one endurance event with the Oblivion Racing community teams, had excellent performance and fit well within the group. We look forward to seeing what they will contribute in the future.
As always, we want to thank our sponsors and partners HSR Autos, GRIP Engineering, and IMB Racewear for their assistance in our progression as an organization. Let’s make Year 3 the best yet! #ThisIsOlympus
